Jesus seemed to minister non stop, with limitless energy. However he always seemed to slip away to be with the Father. His model should be our model. Yet in the demands of every day ministry, who can seem to find the time?
I can testify to this as a ministry leader. The tasks are so many it’s hard to imagine how they will get done without constant efforts. As I grappled with this and the Sabbath, I learned that actually science, too, says we need rest and that without it we are less productive. I realized I was not trusting God with my time! – Bill Coolbaugh, Director, .Boston International Student Ministries
To help, The Sanctuary at Woodville has set aside two days a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in a quiet and worshipful environment which includes refreshments and lunch (offered any day by appointment).
On your quiet day, you come and are prayed for by a prayer intercessor to start your day. Spend the day how you best meet God…sit, read, take a walk on the lake trails nearby, fish, kayak, sing, praise out loud, etc. A lunch of your choice awaits you at noon. At the end of the day a prayer intercessor will again pray with you.
Pastor/Leaders know they need regular time set apart with God , yet ministry and time demands get in the way. To take time away you not only have to locate a quiet place, but carve it into your schedule. We can help you to regularly meet with God for sabbath rest at The Sanctuary at Woodville, and we will work with you to set up a day.
Quiet retreat days yield back results to your church quickly through things like a more refreshed pastor/leader and greater insights from the word through messages taught and preached. Sign up today!
