Encountering God Through Theatre

Encountering God Through Theatre is an introductory but intensively hands-on course that walks participants through the basics of acting and how it can be used to deepen one's personal relationship with God.

WHEN: August 10-14, 2010; 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
WHERE: The Sanctuary at Woodville, 249 Wood Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748.
COST: $125 (Partial Scholarships Available)


Open to teens and adults high-school and up, of any experience level (including no experience)! Participants will explore character work and acting techniques, participate in warmups and exercises, and experience the intersection of faith and the practice of theatre.

Picture
The week will culminate in a final performance of a staged reading (scripts in hand) of a short play.  Taught by Jasmine Myers.

  • Acting lessons are coming to Hopkinton in Summer 2020!
  • Week of August 10-14, 2020 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at The Sanctuary at Woodville
  • A play with the newly-trained actors will directly follow on Saturday Aug. 15th at 7 p.m.
  • Come and help establish another theatre crew right here in central Mass. for this talented ministry.
  • Cost: $125/person (partial scholarships available). Minimum of 10 participants to ensure quality. 

About Jasmine Myers: Jasmine Myers is the founding director of Still Small Theatre, a touring company dedicated to helping people connect with God through the arts. She received her BA in Theatre Arts from Gordon College, and has worked for years since as an actor, playwright, composer, director, costumer, and producer.  She is very interested in integrating both faith and neuroscience into the acting process, and enjoys working with actors to help them create compelling performances and grow through the experience.
